The 604 Society

The 604 Society - Supporting Rochester Cathedral's Campaign

This is a unique way of supporting the Rochester Cathedral Campaign, and is being offered only to parishes within the Diocese of Rochester, the 604 Society celebrates the foundation of the Cathedral 1402 years ago.

It presents parishes with a simple yet recognisable method of support. To become a member of the Society Parishes have been asked to make a donation of at least £604 over the next 4 years. This could be an annual pledge of £151 a year. On the other hand it could be a one-off gift. In short, whatever suits them best.

Membership of the 604 Society could be funded in a number of ways:

  • A small annual gift for End of Year giving, committed each year until 2009.
  • An annual retiring collection at a specific service each year, until 2009.
  • An Annual (or one-off) Gift Day for the Cathedral

As an illustration of the collective power of individual parishes, if 200 parishes make a pledge of £151 per annum for 4 years, the overall value to the Cathedral Campaign would be £ 120,800, a significant contribution.
